Roja is reportedly the oldest first time mother. She received IVF treatment that was highly controversial locally and abroad. Roja, from Hissar, India, almost died giving birth to her daughter due to her womb rupturing and causing internal bleeding. As rural India birth certificates are rare to come across, it is not known for definite if she was 69 or 70 at the time of giving birth. Roja said, “I will get her married when she turns 15-years old, but until then I simply cannot die.” 18 months after giving birth it was revealed that she was dying and was confined to her bed as she was too weak to fully recover from the IVF complications.
